Pet's Story
Riley is a rescue from Kentucky and my brother adopted him in 2016 from DAWS. My brother and his wife had seen “Gus” on the website but weren’t ready for a dog as our mom had just died and we were all moving soon. So they went to DAWS a week before Christmas looking for a kitten, but there were no kittens, all had been adopted. So as they were leaving the shelter my brother said to his wife “let’s just go look at “Gus” and so they went back inside. One look at this dog with ears that “could hold up a coffee cup” (as his profile had stated) and they fell in love with him. Since I’m a dog sitter they called me to come take a look. I took him for a walk and I told my brother “this is a dog’s dog, this dog is way more into dogs than people.” My brother loved that about him. Well, “Gus,” who later in the week became Riley, sure did prove me wrong. Riley LOVES people. And almost everyone who meets Riley has remarked about his ears “which could hold up a coffee cup.”

Our whole family is so grateful that there were no kittens the day they went to DAWS.
