My NICU Graduate's JourneyHe was born and didn’t know at first anything was wrong. Later in the day after he kept turning blue we had found out he had bleeding on his brain which is a stroke. He was on a feeding tube and ventilator. He was able to overcome this and spent 12 days in the NICU! He was put on seizure medications as he kept losing oxygen. 10 years later he is still on seizure medications, follows up with neuro every 3-4 months but he he thriving. He receives services provided by his school district. He is an active 10 year old, he plays soccer and basketball. This year he also learned to play the trombone. Antonio has many friends and is a lovable little boy. He also loves to play video games and can be very stubborn. He is alive and thriving and that is all we could have ever wanted for him.
