My NICU Graduate's Journey
Asher was born at 31 weeks 6 days. We stayed in the NICU for 53 days, he was on cpap, non invasive, and vapotherm throughout his stay. He had a tour of all sides of the NICU started in the fresh born area, got moved up to the grower feeder area and then back down to the main floor for a NEC scare, he had 12 days of NPO, 13 failed attempts for a central line, had an iv infiltrate and had to get an IJ line placed. He didn't let any of the hard days stop him from charming every nurse, doctor, support staff, or volunteer that stopped in his room. We got to go home with no support 5 days after they lifted his NPO. Now he is 7 months old, 5mo adjusted, getting his 1st tooth, sitting unassisted, very close to crawling, eating solids like a champ, and charming everyone he sees with his huge gummy smile and adorable giggles

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
He had a rough and early start to life but is excelling in every aspect of life. He is hitting milestones on track with babies born the same time as him.
