My NICU Graduate's Journey
Our early Christmas gift arrived on December 23rd following preterm premature rupture of my membranes. He spent 17 days in the NICU, during which he learned to eat without needing a feeding tube. He also dealt with minor jaundice and breathing issues, but these quickly resolved as he grew stronger. Declan was discharged on January 8th at barely 6 pounds. He is now four months old and 15 pounds. We haven't noticed any lasting concerns as a result of his prematurity, and he continues to surprise us with new "upgrades" (milestones) every month!

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
We are proud of our little boy because he has caught up to the weight and development of a full-term baby very quickly. Once he learned to eat unassisted, there was no going back. He loves to smile at everyone and show off how cute he is!
