My NICU Graduate's Journey
Emersyn was born at 27 weeks 5 days due to placental abruption. She was given less than a 10% chance to survive and they had given her a death sentence for months before birth. Emersyn came into the world weighing 470grams. At her smallest she was 14 ounces. Emersyn was born with a PDA and a PFO both of which resolved on their own. She underwent multiple blood transfusions. Emersyn was discharged after 4 months with only a gtube. She continues to see multiple specialists at Children’s of Mississippi, but she amazes me daily!

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Emersyn has come so far and she continues to defy the odds stacked against her on a daily basis!
