My NICU Graduate's JourneyTy is the survivor of a neonatal stroke. He was born and had seizures on and off for the first several days of his life. Ty was in the NICU for 11 days and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 2 years old. He wears an AFO orthotic brace on his right leg and has some minor mobility issues but that never held him back.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Ty’s CP diagnosis opened up doors for him to do things with other kids of different abilities. He’s always kept compassion for others and never sees someone for their diagnoses. Ty is 10 years old now and is a Scout, striving for his Eagle Scout rank. He is also a cellist, a biathlon athlete, and loves to play dungeons and dragons on the weekends. This June my NICU graduate will graduate from elementary school and onward to Middle School!
