NICU Hospital for my journeyChildren's Hospital of Philadelphia
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAfter being born at 24 weeks (due to her foot being in my birth canal), Eva started with NEC. She was transferred to CHOP for surgery. She had a large part of her intestines removed due to the infection and we were given 50/50 chance of survival after. Eva came home with a g-tube, and we were told she'd have it until she was at least 5 or 6 years old. Eva ditched her g-tube and graduated Early Intervention (OT and PT) at just *3* YEARS OLD
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Eva is strong and resilient. Despite her strength, she is the most kind, empathetic, caring and loving person I have ever met in my 35 years of life. I swear she is an old soul.
