NICU Hospital for my journeyKaiser Permanente Riverside California
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAfter years of trying to conceive, God blessed us with triplets. We knew that there would be challenges, but we prayed and left it in God's hands. At 22 weeks pregnant, I unexpectedly went into labor. The medical team did all they could, but our little ones were ready to conquer this world.
Our little Miss Lulu had a long NICU journey, born at only 22 weeks and 2 days gestation. She was born at the Riverside Kaiser Permanente and transferred that night to the Fontana Kaiser Permanente. Her first hours and days were challenging and uncertain. Every hour spent with her was a blessing, and we thanked God for the blessing of having her and for allowing us to be her parents.
At about a month old, she faced challenges and was not gaining weight as expected. She needed surgery for her PDA, and at about two months old, she was transferred to the Los Angeles Kaiser Permanente. She stayed in LA for nearly a month. After her surgery, she was transferred to the Riverside Kaiser Permanente. It was nice to return to where she was born. The NICU staff were amazed at how far she had come from when she was born.
While there, she needed eye surgery and was transferred to the Anaheim Kaiser Permanente. After 142 days, she was released as a NICU graduate!
She is our miracle, and her siblings are looking over her from heaven.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? Her resilience and strength. She does not allow anything to stop her.
