NICU Hospital for my journeyMedical City Arlington
My NICU Graduate's JourneyNoah came into this world in the most unexpected and frightening way. His birth turned into an emergency, and he had to be delivered through a C-section. For three long, agonizing minutes after his arrival, he didn’t take a breath. I remember holding my own breath during those moments, feeling time stand still. The medical team moved swiftly, working with precision and urgency to bring him back. Then, finally, we heard his cry…a sound so raw and beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. I was allowed to kiss him just once before they rushed him away to the NICU.
Those next two weeks were a blur of hospital monitors, quiet prayers, and long hours by his side. I watched his tiny body fight with strength I couldn’t imagine. Each day brought small signs of hope, and every improvement felt like a miracle.
As time passed, Noah was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and hearing loss. These words were heavy to hear, but they do not define who he is. Noah is brave, bright, and full of light. He teaches me daily what it means to be strong. While his journey may look different from others’, it’s uniquely his and it’s full of purpose. His beginning was filled with challenges, but it also marked the start of a love deeper than I ever knew possible. Noah is a gift, and I’m so proud to be his mom.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I am endlessly proud of my child. Every single day, he shows a strength and determination. Living with cerebral palsy means facing challenges most people will never fully understand, but he’s never let his diagnosis define him.
