My NICU Graduate's JourneyMy twins, Aria and Jaxon, began their lives with an incredibly tough journey, arriving far earlier than expected and weighing just 1 pound 4 ounces and 1 pound 8 ounces, respectively. Born at 24 weeks, they faced overwhelming odds and were immediately placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where every day became a fight for strength and survival. Aria remained in the NICU for 158 days, enduring countless procedures and setbacks with remarkable resilience. Her brother Jaxon, equally strong, spent 119 days in intensive care before he was finally able to go home. Their journey is a powerful testament to the strength of premature babies and the unwavering love and hope of their family. They went from silent cries to calling for “Mama”, and words could never express how grateful I am for our NICU team.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I am incredibly proud of my twin NICU graduates who have shown such strength, resilience, and determination from the very beginning. Watching them fight through those early, fragile days in the NICU and grow into the healthy, thriving children they are today fills my heart with overwhelming gratitude and pride. Their journey is a constant reminder of how far they’ve come and how much love and courage they carry within them. They are my little miracles, and I will always celebrate their strength and the hope they inspire.
