NICU Hospital for my journeyAultman
My NICU Graduate's JourneyBorn with shoulder dystocia, vacuum assist. Apgar 2. Resuscitated and rushed to NICU. 9lbs 9oz- biggest baby in NICU! Cpap required for 24 hours, suffered brachial plexus birth injury to left arm- completely paralyzed. Spent 3 days in NICU- so lucky it was short and he recovered quickly! Birth injury has been life long, years and years of therapy and surgery he now has a good range of motion, but nothing like a typical person. Our sweet boy also has Autism. He turns 9 in a week! We came extremely close to losing him and so blessed to have him here with us. We will never forget the NICU team that helped him 🥰
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? He showed us how strong he was from the moment he was born. Hours after birth we were told they didn’t know if he would improve or decline, but he was making strides by the next day and then recovered so quickly he was discharged on day 3! The doctors and nurses couldn’t believe it!
