My NICU Graduate's JourneyMy NICU graduate was born via emergency C-Section at 34 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. He overcame a lot of obstacles on his stay. His first days were hard. There were talks of a feeding tube because he wouldn’t eat on his own because he was tired and losing weight. He beat all the odds of a 34 week baby. The biggest odd was the decels in his O2 when he slept. He failed his car seat test because of his O2 as well. His care team was absolutely amazing, they worked to get him stronger everyday and we will forever be so so grateful for them. I couldn’t ask for more amazing doctors and nurses.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? His general curiosity. I know he is only 6 months but you can just always see the wheels turning that he wants to do more. So far he has met all milestones with no delay!
