NICU Hospital for my journeyCrouse hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyKyree was born at 37 weeks with a rare birth defect called gastroschisis, where the abdominal wall doesn’t fully form and the intestines develop outside the body. Just one hour after entering the world, he underwent a life-saving surgery to place his intestines back where they belonged and close the opening. We were told to prepare for a long and uncertain journey in the NICU, but Kyree defied every expectation. After just 27 days, he came home stronger than anyone imagined. Now, at 5 months old and weighing 17 pounds, he’s healthy, thriving, and continues to amaze his doctors. He’s our little warrior—a true testimony of strength, faith, and resilience.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I am incredibly proud of my graduate for the remarkable strength he demonstrated throughout my pregnancy and during his time in the NICU. Despite the challenges, he consistently received positive reports and made rapid progress. His resilience during such a critical time was nothing short of inspiring. I thank God every day for the strength and determination He placed in my child—it has been an honor to witness his journey.
