NICU Hospital for my journeyMUSC Health University Medical Center - Charleston
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAt just 30 weeks I woke up with the worst headache, I called my doctor & headed to the hospital not prepared to deliver a baby. It was the peak of COVID & I could only have one support person. I was admitted into the hospital after a couple hours as my BP continued to increase. Kross was delivered via cesarean.
Kross was born at 30 weeks gestation weighing 2lbs 7oz. He was born at Coastal Carolina hospital and airlifted to MUSC a few hours after he was born where he stayed for 38 days.
During Kross’ stay he had the best most informative medical team. As first time Mom it was scary but I never felt left out.
When Kross was discharged he weighed 4.5 lbs.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Kross is so resilient. In 4 years he’s overcome so many obstacles and has broken down many barriers. Kross hasn’t met a person that hasn’t fallen in love with his infectious smile & his loving personality. When I look at Kross I see a miracle and a child who is favored. We are so grateful for him and will never forget his journey as it made him who he is today.
