My NICU Graduate's JourneyAt 30 weeks gestation, we learned that our little Grey would require surgery on his duodenum and wouldn’t be able to eat at birth. The reality of his situation became even more daunting when we discovered additional complications after he was born. From the very beginning, he showed incredible strength and resilience, undergoing surgery just three days after he entered the world. Although we had to spend a month apart from him, it was heartening to see him make progress and grow each day. We were truly grateful for the exceptional care he received from his medical teams. In many ways, we know we were among the fortunate families during such a challenging time.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I can’t express enough how proud I am of my son for his unwavering spirit and determination to thrive in this world. The joy he experiences each day is truly remarkable. It’s hard to fathom the emotions and pain he endured just to return home, but today, he radiates sweetness and charm. He has this incredible ability to spread love to everyone around him. It warms my heart to see him giving back to his NICU friends in so many meaningful ways. His joyful demeanor and zest for life are nothing short of inspiring. Mom and Dad are endlessly proud of you!
