NICU Hospital for my journeyTexas Health Harris Methodist Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyTheo was in the NICU for 5 months, from October 2024- February 2025. He had multiple GI surgeries to fix an obstruction in his bowel and is currently on IV nutrition due to the removal of most of his lower bowel. He had his first surgery when he was 5 days old and had to get an osotmy. which is a small piece of his lower bowel that sits above his skin on his stomach and he stools into a bag. But finally got it fixed when he was 2 months old. we spent the next 3 months figuring out what his bowel needs to heal and to get him to digest food correctly.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I’m proud of Theo because he endured so much pain, needles, surgeries, and medicines. He is such a tough little guy, he always smiled through everything and never gave up. As an adult I could never go through what this little guy went through and still be laughing and smiling .
