My NICU Graduate's Journey
Lucas was born at 26 +5 weeks weighing less than 2 pounds. He stayed in the NICU for 4 months with the amazing team of nurses that helped advocate and care for him. He has continued to struggle with developmental delays and was diagnosed with ASD but that has never slowed him down. He now goes to school with peers to develop social skills and learn. He loves to read books, can count to 100, loves snuggling and "big hugs" and playing outside. He has overcome so much in his short life and continues to grow and learn in his own way.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Lucas is such a resilient little boy. He loves learning new things and reading stories to anyone that will listen. He has faced many obstacles throughout his life already and, despite struggling with his ASD, he continues to be the sweetest boy. He likes to make new friends to play outside with and loves giving hugs. He continues working hard to learn to play with peers and share with his brother, but he tries his hardest all the time.
