NICU Hospital for my journeySt. David’s Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMiles spent a little under two weeks in the NICU. During his stay, the wonderful nurses worked with him to help him strengthen his under developed lungs while Mommy and Daddy learned all about how to properly care for a premature baby from the kind people from Hand to Hold. From the Lactation specialist to the RRTs, Miles thrived with all the people who came to help him while in the NICU. Although, he was so tiny and fragile, Miles ate and did everything he had to do to make sure his stay was short and even though he failed his first car seat test, Miles tried again and passed a couple of days later and Mommy and Daddy were able to ring that bell and take him home 12 days later.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? From the moment he took his first breath, he has demonstrated his strength and determination to live. Although Miles is still tiny compared to others his age (he’s in the 2%), his love for life and all things that make him happy, has always shined through in his smile since that moment we first captured his sweet smile that third night in the NICU. He truly has grown into such a strong little boy who just love life and all the beautiful things it has to offer.
