My NICU Graduate's Journey
Skylar was born at 36 weeks with a weight of 7 lbs 4 Oz and a length of 17 inches long. Due to preeclampsia, an emergency c-section was performed after 52 hours of labor. Skylar was taken immediately to the NICU since he stopped breathing. He also had a brain bleed and a hole in his heart. After 17 days, he was released with only minor issues.

When he reached 2 years old, he started to strive and catch up to children his own age in all areas of life. Skylar excelled in basketball, baseball, and archery. He even made to the World competition for archery.

Today, he is 19 years old and lives a normal productive life. He graduated high school and tech school with honors. Skylar has certificates in Diesel Tech and currently works on the drilling rigs.

Skylar and his girlfriend just bought their first home and are expecting their first daughter in July.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Skylar has been a fighter since he was born. At the hospital, he would pull out his lines. They would have to tie him down. He has fought to strive in everything he does. Skylar has excelled in all areas of life.
