NICU Hospital for my journeyBaptist Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyI was hit by a car while walking into Baptist Medical Center, which resulted in a placental abruption. That week, I experienced significant bleeding, marking the beginning of our NICU journey. I delivered my daughter at just 26 weeks, and she weighed only 1 pound 12 ounces. Initially, she was on high-flow oxygen and was doing well. However, challenges arose when we moved to the step-down unit. On the first night after her feeding tube was removed, she started pouring milk from her nose and coded in my arms during a bradycardia episode. According to the doctor babies normally correct the episode themselves, but this time she wasn't able to and I almost lost her. Thankfully, the nurses acted quickly. Now, she is a healthy and thriving 8-year-old! 💕
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? She is an honor roll student. She loves reading and drawing and she has a funny personality.
