Isabelle, Alyssa, and Makenna were born tiny but mighty—at just 3.3, 1.9, and 3.4 pounds. They spent 53, 55, and 60 days in the NICU fighting through every imaginable challenge: brain bleeds (level 1 to level 4), jaundice (direct and indirect), delayed myelination, failure to thrive, and multiple infections.
Those early days were full of tubes, tests, and tears—but also hope, strength, and love.
Today, 18 years later, they’re walking across graduation stages and preparing to start college this fall. From the NICU to new beginnings, they’ve shown what it means to never give up.
This is their story—hand to hand, heart to heart.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Watching Isabelle, Alyssa, and Makenna grow from fragile preemies into strong, compassionate young women has been the greatest honor of my life.
Born tiny and fighting for every breath in the NICU, they’ve spent the last 18 years showing the world what true strength looks like. They’ve overcome learning disabilities with grit and determination. They’ve become leaders with kind hearts, always the first to stand up for others, to comfort a friend, or to give back.
Through their work with the Boy Scouts of America, they’ve impacted their community in meaningful ways, giving their time without hesitation.
And when they lost their father, a firefighter, they didn’t let grief define them—they let it strengthen them. They honor his legacy every day with courage, compassion, and a sense of duty that would make him proud.
This fall, they begin their next journey, and I can’t be prouder!
