My NICU Graduate's Journey
At 3 days old Lincoln was diagnosed with Congential heart disease. This was a surprise and was not caught during pregnancy. Instead of being discharged to go home we discharged from one hospital to another. He was flown from his birth hospital to Riley's Children. He spend most of his stay in the CVICU. At two weeks old he had his 1st heart surgery. At 3 months old he had open heart surgery. He lived on a ventilator for the first 4 months of his life. He also had many other surgeries and procedures during that time. His NICU stay May 21st through October 12 2023.
