NICU Hospital for my journeyNationwide Children’s Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyBrayden was born with a rare genetic lung condition that caused him to end up in the NICU the day he was born. He as a big baby compared to all the other NICU babies being 8lbs. Brayden ended up needed a tracheostomy and gj-tube to help him breath and thrive. We spent 10 months in the hospital before getting to go home. He went home on ventilator and oxygen. Now at the age of thirteen Brayden recieved a double lung transplant and is living his life with no machines to help him breath. He is now able to experience things he has never been able to because the ventilator and his bad lungs wouldn’t allow him to do much. We will forever be grateful for the NICU team and nurses who were such a big part of his first year of life.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? That no matter what he has faced or been through he continues to have the biggest heart. He is strong and loving towards all.
