My NICU Graduate's Journey
Isabella was born on May 7, 2024, in Austin, TX—at just 25 weeks. From that moment, our journey began, and it was one of the longest and hardest we’ve ever faced. She spent five and a half months in the NICU, fighting every single day.

There were days she made amazing progress, and others where things felt so uncertain. Eventually, she needed a G-tube—one of the best decisions we made for her health and growth.

Now, she’s almost a year old, and she’s doing wonderfully. We are beyond grateful.

To all the incredible nurses, doctors, and NICU staff—thank you. Your care, strength, and kindness meant the world to us. A special thank you to Ivette, who stood by our side every single week, offering unwavering support through the darkest moments. We couldn’t have done it without you.



What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
She couldn’t have been in a better place than the NICU in Austin. From the very beginning, we felt surrounded by love, care, and understanding. The staff didn’t just take care of our baby—they took care of us, too. Families were treated with so much compassion. They created a space where we could connect with other parents walking the same difficult path. There were moments to breathe, talk, and even smile amidst the uncertainty.

I don’t have enough words to express how grateful and blessed I feel to have had my baby in this NICU. Every nurse, every doctor, every team member did so, so, so much for us. They became part of our family.

What makes me most proud of my NICU graduate is her strength. She fought through every setback with a courage far beyond her tiny size. Watching her grow, thrive, and smile now—it brings me to tears. She is the bravest little girl I know, and she reminds me every day what true resilience looks
