My NICU Graduate's Journey
My tiny boy was born at 31w 1d, weighing in at 3lb 2 oz. He was a fighter from before birth having been a frozen embryo for 15 yrs! He had a 70 day NICU stay. He was on O2, but otherwise he had very little complications for an early baby. He did have to learn to breathe and swallow at the same time, we had to walk the “Brady” scare more times than my heart cares to remember! He came home with nurse visits for eating, he had PT and had to wear a helmet, and braces on his feet/ankles, but he has fought through it all. He has sensory issues and we have been in OT to work on those, but Gods grace has walked us through! This boy loves deeply, he is smart and kind, he does not know a stranger and he LOVES to sing! God knew our hearts needed this exact little boy and even prepared for medical issues before we walked the halls of the NICU. We were so blessed with the most amazing nurses and staff they deeply loved our family! They prayed over us and we still keep in touch. We now have a very active 4 yr old in Pre-K who lights up the room whenever he enters! He is our greatest gift!

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
He is resilient! He gets back up and goes again until he gets it done! He is so compassionate and caring he always makes sure everyone is ok! He loves so deeply! He is a friend to everyone!
