NICU Hospital for my journeySelah Foundation at Broward Health Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyOur labor started at 29 weeks due to placental abruption earning us a hospital bedrest stay. Holding on just a little longer we delivered at 31 weeks and our precious baby girl was the sickest baby in the NICU but she was a fighter. She crashed several times in her first few hours of life and we were told she wouldn’t make it 24 hours. Her apgar score was a 3 and it was scary. Only getting bad news after bad news each day until 1 week later she took a 360 and was getting better. Through hope and prayer we were able to heal heart, kidney and several other issues and go home after 72 days. Our little miracle is now a thriving 5 year old with dancing feet and a story to tell.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I am proud of her because she was born fighting and has never stopped. Although we are faced with lingering medical challenges she is strong and capable of doing anything she puts her mind too. There was nothing that could stop the light she intended to shine in our lives.
