My NICU Graduate's Journey
Owen was born at 27 weeks due to placental abruption. He weighed 2 pounds 4 ounces and was 18 inches long. Owen spent 94 days in the NICU. He was very sick when he was born, dealing with chronic lung disease, and PDA, and was on O2 and a feeding tube for a while. He was able to come home after day 94, with no O2 needed or feeding tube.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Despite the circumstances, Owen met all his goals to be discharged 2 days after his due date. He is our miracle child. When he was born via emergency c-section, the doctors found ovarian cancer in his mom. By the time she had her surgery, and recovered and received the news that she was cancer free, Owen was able to come home within a week. He is her hero.
