My NICU Graduate's Journey
Daniel our 3rd baby was unexpectedly born when I was 7 months pregnant, I was getting my first stress test done and that when we found out Daniel had stopped growing and was only about 2lbs. my dr decided it’s best to have an emergency c section, so I was admitted to hospital that day they planned on having the c section that Saturday but his heart rate kept dropping so around 5 in the morning Friday they took me and Daniel was born he was so small but came out crying so loud me and my husband were so happy to hear that cry .. I only got to spend a few minutes with him and he was rushed to the nicu and our journey began ., it was so difficult not being able to hold my little man .. as the days went on Daniel needed 2 blood transfusions he had to stay on oxygen for a little while but he was such a fighter he would stare us right in the eyes and he just was so strong .. he finally was taken off oxygen and we finally got to see his little face I was at the hospital every day I’m grateful our hospital had cameras so when we went home we got to watch him .. while he slept and moved around .. finally at 45 days he was able to come home he was still small
At 4lbs but he was ready .

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
His strength and the fight he had in him amazed us he was and still is a strong determined person he makes us so proud every day I still can’t believe he went thru all the things that nicu babies go thru he is my hero ❤️
