My NICU Graduate's Journey
Oaklee was born at 29 weeks gestation weighing 2lb 11oz and 14inches long. She mostly had an uneventful journey aside from minimal oxygen needs and some severe reflux! The nurses referred to her as sassy and she has definitely lived up to that! Oaklee came into this world on her own terms and has been living life by her own rules ever since! She spent a total of 6 weeks in the NICU and initially came home on a heart monitor that she wore for another 6 weeks.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Oaklee is my tiny, but mighty little fighter! She has endured more in her short years than most adult ever do and to this day she remains so full of life and joy! Even after her NICU stay there were multiple hospital stays and several times we weren't sure if she would survive. Yet now she is thriving and growing by leaps and bounds. She has a zest for life and a sparkle in her eyes that let's everyone know she is the life of the party. I hope her fire never dims because this girl will do big things in life!
