My NICU Graduate's Journey
My Miracle Baby, Legend
This time last year, I had no idea how much my life was about to change. I went to the hospital not feeling well and finding out I was six months pregnant. I was facing a severe case of pre-eclampsia. My blood pressure was dangerously high, and doctors told me both my life and my baby’s were at risk.

Legend was born the week of Christmas 2024, but our journey was far from merry. Because of his size and how early he came, only one hospital could deliver him safely. From day one, he faced what felt like impossible battles he couldn’t eat or breathe on his own, needed blood transfusions, fought infections, and was on several medications.

We spent 80 days in the NICU, and every day I drove an hour each way just to be with him. I didn’t want to miss a single moment.

My sweet boy Legend, you are the definition of a true fighter. You’ve beaten the odds, reached milestones we once prayed for, and showed a strength far beyond your tiny size. You are my miracle, my pride, and my greatest blessing.

To all the incredible nurses who cared for him you’ll never know how much you meant to us. Your love, your kindness, and your strength helped carry us through the darkest days.

Also I’d like to thank my family, friends and those whom I’ve never met for all the prayers.

We made it. And I’m forever thankful.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
He’s come so far, fighting every step of the way. His growth tells a story words can barely hold. Even on the hardest days, when he was so small and the world felt so big, he kept going. And he still does. His strength humbles me. I am endlessly proud of him.
