My NICU Graduate's Journey
I had James on April 23rd, 2025 and if it weren't for the wonderful staff at my hospital, my son would not have been in my arms today. My fluids were too high and caused James to have underdeveloped lungs which led to his heart becoming enlarged as well. The first few nights were awful and scary as we were told to prepare for the worst. He had bleeding in his lungs and was put on a vent for the first few days of his life. Fortunately, things took a turn for the better and after 2 long weeks, he was finally able to come home and be with us.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
I'm so proud my son is so strong and resilient. It makes me think that anything is possible as long as we hold on to hope.
