NICU Hospital for my journeySt David’s Medical Center - Austin
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMy son’s NICU journey began when he was born at just 27 weeks, weighing only 2 pounds. From the very beginning, he proved how strong and determined he was. The NICU quickly became my second home, and showing up for him every single day became my most important job.
Watching such a tiny baby fight so hard was both heartbreaking and inspiring. He continued to reach milestone after milestone, making us proud every step of the way. Although there was a point where he regressed and things became scary and uncertain, he pushed through with incredible strength.
The day we finally got to bring him home at 4 pounds was a feeling I will never be able to fully describe. After spending so much time in the NICU, finally walking out with my baby boy felt like a dream come true. Now at a year and a half old, he is thriving, deeply loved, and continues to show everyone around him just how strong he truly is. He will always be our little fighter.
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? What makes me most proud of my NICU graduate is his strength, bright personality, and loving heart. Being born at 27 weeks and weighing only 2 pounds, he faced challenges from the very beginning, yet he never stopped fighting. Even during moments when he regressed, he continued to push through and show just how resilient he is.
Watching him grow from such a tiny baby in the NICU into a happy, thriving boy fills me with pride every day. Beyond his strength, he has the brightest personality and brings so much joy to everyone around him. He is so loving, full of happiness, and always reminds us how special he truly is. His journey has inspired our family in more ways than words can describe, and he will always be our little fighter.
