My NICU Graduate's Journey
Emory started to measure behind in December. At our OB appointment on December 18th we were refered to Austin Maternal Fetal Medicine. They discovered that there was Absent umbilical arterial end-diastolic flow. We were told to drive 2.5hrs to the Hospital in Austin, TX to be admitted through the rest of my pregnancy. After about a week in antepartum and discovering I also had preeclampsia the blood flow eventually reversed. They attempted induction but Emory didn't respond well and we went back for a C-section. Emory was born 2lbs 5oz on December 24th. He stayed in the NICU for 53 Days. We were very fortunate to have some great NICU staff that allowed us to be very hands on with cares and let us actually feel like we were his parents.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
He has rolled with every punch life has thrown at him.
