My NICU Graduate's Journey
Amelia was born at 31+3 due to her mom’s preeclampsia with severe features weighing 3lbs 11.6oz. She had her ups and downs over her 74 days with oxygen and feeding. Her last week in we had a swallow study and found she had been silently aspirating. After switching her to thickened feeds she was eating like a champ and we could go home. She has been home almost a year with no additional hospital stays to this point. She loves trying new foods and is exploring her world!

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
They prepared us for delays as preemies are not compared to newborns born at term until 2 years of age. She is already saying many words and almost ready to run. She is extremely curios of everything around her and makes life extremely fun!
