My NICU Graduate's Journey
From the very beginning, Avery has been a fighter.

Born nearly two months early at just 3 lbs., 4 oz. Avery came into the world facing enormous challenges. He needed oxygen to breathe, a feeding tube to gain nutrients, and had no immune system to speak of. Ave’s start was fragile, uncertain, and filled with moments that demanded extraordinary strength.

Avery’s story is also one of instinct, courage, and resilience.

When something wasn’t right, Avery’s mother trusted her instincts and took action. Her actions saved both mom and Avery, and they are both here today - alive, thriving, and writing stories far greater than anyone imagined.

In his early years, Avery’s developing immune system and health complications led to challenging febrile seizures - as another testament to his strength and adversity, Ave has been seizure free for three years now!

Today, Avery is a vibrant and deeply creative young man whose imagination knows no bounds. A gifted sketch artist, he loves bringing stories to life through graphic novels, sketching theme park map layouts, comic books, and original creations. Rarely seen without a pen in hand and a stack of copy paper nearby, Avery is constantly innovating, dreaming, and developing his newest creations.

Avery’s journey is a reminder that even the smallest beginnings can lead to extraordinary outcomes. Through perseverance, innovation, and unwavering love, Ave continues to thrive.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
What makes us most proud of Avery is not only what he accomplishes, but who he is:

Avery is a gifted and talented learner with a remarkable curiosity for the world around him. Ave consistently demonstrates growth and mastery of everything he sets his sights on. Excelling academically, Avery performs in the top percentiles nationally and approaches learning with determination and imagination far beyond his years.

Avery is a true creative visionary: constantly bringing ideas to life through storytelling, art, and innovation. He is also a talented speaker- confidently expressing himself with thoughtfulness and heart.

We are most proud of Avery’s courage and character. After overcoming challenges early in life, Ave continues to face the world with resilience and joy. He is the very best big brother- endlessly patient, deeply kind, and an incredible role model for his two younger brothers who look up to him in every way.
