My NICU Graduate's Journey
Born as Twin A, at 35w 5d @5lbs 5oz, 15.5inches long. Went 15 minutes without oxygen at birth, HIE, encephalomalacia, infantile spasms, and now CP... all from birth injury. Has had 2 open heart surgeries, will require 2 more as he ages. Was in the NICU for 6 months. One heart surgery bruised his left vocal cords nerve, which kept him from being able to use that vocal cords to protect his airway, then he was bottle fed and aspirated 4x by Nicu nurses... which led to a G-tube being necessary.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
He had apgar scores of 0,0,3... he shouldnt be here today. Hes truly a miracle. We desperately want to get him stem cells and intensive therapies.
