My NICU Graduate's Journey
Bentley was born at 32 weeks by C section. A car accident caused him to have decreased movement and heart rate decelerations. We were told to expect him to be in the NICU until his due date but he was strong and proved them all wrong. He was on oxygen briefly but after only 4 weeks he came home. He has fought through so much even after leaving the NICU. He gets respiratory illnesses often needing inhalers and breathing treatments. He has had multiple surgeries on his ears and has worn hearing aids to correct hearing loss. He doesn’t let any of it slow him down.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
I am proud of my NICU graduate because he has grown into a smart and kind young boy. He is a good big brother and strives to do his best every day. He is competitive and active in sports and shows us that not even being born premature can slow him down.
