My NICU Graduate's Journey
Leto was born at 24 weeks, 1lb 10oz. He was in the NICU for 131 days. He was born with a cyst on his left eye where he eventually had to get it surgically removed. Unfortunately his eye wasn’t able to be saved so now he has a prosthesis that replaces that eye. His grandmother went on to write a children's book about Superhero Leto where it helps share the differences in children and how children with disabilities are still able to do the same things as other children. Leto is now 9 years old, a star student who loves space, math and STEM. He has accomplished winning the spelling bee in 2024, 2025 and 2026. In 2026 he came in 2nd place against 3rd grade-8th grade. He is loving, kind and a believer in Christ. We are so proud of all of his hard work and how his NICU journey has changed so many lives.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
Leto has never allowed his difficult start to life to determine his future. He has been such a light to everyone around him. He works very hard in not only academics but also in his every day life. He speaks up against things that are wrong and stands up for those who may not have the voice to stand up for themselves.
