My NICU Graduate's Journey
Porter was born at 33 weeks 5 days gestation after a scary battle with placenta accreta. She was born with mom under general anesthesia for an emergency c-section and hysterectomy. Although her size was decent at 5 lbs. 1.1 oz, she had two collapsed lungs and was on a ventilator for her first couple weeks. It was a very scary time for her family, but after 33 days in the NICU, she was able to come home to her parents and three older siblings.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
Porter is our precious last baby. We’re so proud of how strong she is and how hard she fought in the NICU. Forever grateful for the amazing neonatologists, NICU nurses, OT, respiratory therapists, and everyone else who helped her get through those first several weeks!
