My NICU Graduate's JourneyAlora was born 10 weeks early at 30 +5, via urgent c-section due to preeclampsia, and growth restriction caused by a subamneotic hemorrhage. She stayed in the NICU for 47 days, not once needing oxygen. The CPAP was only protocol and not really needed. Alora would constantly move it off her face hence the prongs in the picture instead of the mask, but she'd also get the prongs out and yank out her feeding tube lol. She hit every milestone quickly and took to bottle feeding within 3 days after starting. She learned breastfeeding pretty quickly after graduating the NICU as well. She started at 2lbs 9oz and was 4 lbs 14oz when she graduated. She turns 1 in June and is currently 18 lbs and hitting majority of her actual age milestones
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? She is my little fighter. Even cried when she was born, showing she didn't need any supplemental oxygen. She blew the nurses away constantly with how quickly she'd hit a milestone and also with how quickly she'd escape their swaddles lol
