My NICU Graduate's JourneyOur NICU graduate 💕
Our daughter is now 3 years old. She was born at 32 weeks but measured closer to a 29-week baby. She was taken to the NICU right away, and due to waiting on COVID test results, I wasn’t able to see her for the first 5 days. That was one of the hardest parts of our journey.
From the very beginning, the nurses, doctors, and staff were incredible. They made such a scary and uncertain time feel as smooth and supported as possible. They were there for us every step of the way, answering questions, offering comfort, and taking amazing care of our girl.
Even when the NICU was full, they went out of their way to accommodate us—moving rooms around so that when space opened up, we could finally be together comfortably and spend as much time with our daughter as possible, even 24 hours a day.
We are forever grateful for the care, compassion, and dedication they showed our family. The NICU will always hold a special place in our hearts 🤍
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? What makes me proud of my daughter is the strength she showed before she even took her first breath on her own. She fought from day one, and even now, that strength shines through in everything she does. She’s resilient, brave, and full of so much life. After everything she’s been through, watching her laugh, grow, and be a happy 3-year-old means everything to me.
