My NICU Graduate's Journey
Elizabeth was born at 28 wks 1 day with her identical twin sister, she came out with her and her sisters cord wrapped around her neck 3 times and a softball knot in between them. She had a little white matter on the brain from lack of oxygen. In the NICU they found she had Grade 1 brain hemorrhage and had a large PDA that was not wanting to close so she had to go to the cath lab for them to put a plug in her heart. She stayed 121 days in the NICU before she came home due to feeding difficulties and being on oxygen.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
I am proud of Elizabeth because she has over came so much from failure to thrive with a gtube, to lots of therapies and specialists but she has continued to get stronger. She is now 7.
