My NICU Graduate's Journey
Paxton was an IVF embryo in 2019 but his transfer was delayed because we became pregnant with his older Sister naturally in 2020. He had to wait 4 years for his transfer so we figure he got tired of waiting and decided to surprise us on a road trip to Marfa, TX by being born 2 months early! We ended up in Odessa, TX which was the nearest NICU over 3 hours away. Lesson learned: Don't mess with the 3rd Trimester! After his harrowing entry into the world, he beat all expectations for progress in the NICU and was released after 6 weeks. He has been growing like a champ ever since. Now he's a crazy, funny, sweet gremlin of a 2 & 1/2 year old boy who completes our family. We love him to pieces.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
Paxton is kind, brave and very sweet. He is already very protective of his big Sister and is always helping out his friends at pre-school. He has a great sense of humor and a fearless approach to life.
