NICU Hospital for my journeySt. Peter’s Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyOur sweet Mason decided to make an early appearance at 34 weeks. We spent nearly 3 weeks in the NICU as he fought to breathe and eat independently. We were sent home with his feeding tube still in and quickly learned our family’s new ‘normal’ while navigating the traditional challenges that new parents face. He is the light of our lives and has made us smile everyday since his arrival. As a woman with PCOS, fertility and parenting seemed so out of reach. He is our miracle, and the most courageous, loving, kind, and adventurous little boy. My husband and I and are so grateful for the incredible NICU nurses and staff for going above and beyond to help our boy grow strong. We will forever cherish the extra 6 weeks we got to spend with our son.
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? We are proud of Mason in every way a parent could be, but what particularly stands out about him is how independent and free spirited he is. Mason’s first few months of life required a lot of extra support, and now it’s so special to see how well he moves through this world on his own. He is so kind, funny, and the best little wiggle butt dancer in our family!
