NICU Hospital for my journeyUNM Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyLevi came early, born at 33w5d. Mom started leaking amniotic fluid a couple weeks before he was born and was admitted for over a week before he came. Levi put Momma into labor after we walked around the hospital to take maternity photos!
Levi had to be on a CPAP initially for oxygen because his lungs weren’t quite ready yet. Levi tried to come off it, but had to be sent home on oxygen!
He is so loved and had all sorts of visitors! Mommy and Daddy were with you daily, Grumpy came at night, Papa came in the mornings! You also had visits from Grammie, Thea Adi, Auntie Boo, Father Dimitri, your Great Papou, Great Thea DeeDee, and even one of mom’s nursing classmates!
You quickly became a “grower and eater” in the intermediate side of the NICU- so you could focus on just that! You were tough and so strong! One of the biggest babies in the NICU, and one of the only ones with super blonde hair!
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?Levi is resilient and so energetic. He has had some sensory issues and was slightly delayed, but with the help of OT, a developmental specialist, and PT, he has taken off! He is a big guy, and you would never know he was a NICU grad! We are so proud of our loud, spunky, kind and hilarious little guy!
