My NICU Graduate's Journey
Violet was born via CSection due to preeclampsia at 34 weeks weighing 7lbs 10oz!!! (very big for 6 weeks early). She was born at Avista Hospital in Louisville, CO but due to her medial complexities, she was transferred to Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora at around 2 weeks old. Her doctors were worried she was having seizures so she was put on a EEG for many days. She also really had trouble taking her formula by mouth. She lost quite a bit of weight in the NICU from refusing to drink and throwing up a good amount of her feeds. She graduated from the nicu after 51 days. She came home with a Gtube surgically placed into her stomach due to feeding issues. While she still has her Gtube inserted in her stomach she hasn't used it in quite a few months and is eating by mouth regularly now. She will be 2 on May 27th!

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
With a brother only 12 months older to show her the ropes, Violet is doing incredible reaching all of the age appropriate milestones despite being premature.
