My NICU Graduate's Journey
Zaylen was born weighing 1134 g at the Gestation Age of 27 wks by emergency C-section due to being breech. Initially born in one hospital on ventilator and phototherapy. Day 3, he was life-flighted to another hospital, got emergency surgery for spontaneous intestinal perforation (SIP). Zaylen had intro abdominal pin rose drains placed to drain air. He remained in NICU for 2 months with minimal complications. Zaylen’s discharge date was 11/27/24 and his Discharge weight was 2176 g at 36 weeks 3 days. Since he has been home he had to get a bilateral hernia removal surgery at a few months of age and now goes through OT, PT and ST weekly.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
He is a fighter! He has overcome any and all challenges that came his way! Everything he does makes me proud!!
