NICU Hospital for my journeyNorton Women and Children
My NICU Graduate's JourneyEliza SOARED through the NICU! When she was born she was 3 lbs. 13 oz. at 32 weeks and 2 days. They told us she would be in the hospital at least a month, probably more. This girl was tiny but mighty and proved everyone wrong. She made so much progress daily and never even needed oxygen help! When her doctor called with updates every day, he always said she was one of his favorites to visit and asses because she was so alert! All she had to do was eat well and gain weight! She made it to an open air crib at only two weeks old, breastfed at 2.5 weeks and then went home at 3 weeks exactly, weighing 4 lbs. 7 oz. to a very happy big brother, finally getting to meet his sister face to face! We are so thankful to the doctors and nurses that made the nicu time so much less scary. Our tiny but mighty girl turned 5 in March and is thriving and on her way to kindergarten next year! We are so lucky and proud that she is ours!
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? She is spunky, funny, smart and has a big personality that comes out of her tiny body! She went through so many obstacles having been born smaller and amazed each doctor and therapist that she worked with to help her grow! Anyone that meets her is just enamored with her and we are so lucky that we get to be her parents!
