My NICU Graduate's JourneyBorn at 25 weeks, 600 grams, and 12 inches long, Grace spent 100 days in the NICU. She battled Group B step, and endured spinal taps, blood transfusions, and countless other tests. After 100 days we brought our girl home on oxygen. She remained on oxygen until she was released by the pulmonologist. Grace struggles with ADHD and some learning disabilities, but is otherwise a beautiful, healthy, and happy 9 year old.
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?I am so proud of the person Grace is becoming. She is confident, outspoken, and brave. Grace is the strongest little girl I know, and faces life’s adversities head on. She is not afraid to speak up for herself or others. I admire Grace’s ability to express herself through singing and dancing. She lives her life loudly, and I couldn’t be more thankful to be her momma.
