My NICU Graduate's Journey
Kennedy was born 2 lbs 12 oz at 33 weeks. She was in NICU for 2 months. Kennedy is now 9 and has had some pretty big accomplishments . She is blind and a braille reader and writer! Kennedy is a Girl Scout and a Covington Lion’s Club member. She has won 1st place in Georgia State science fair for 2025 and 2026. Most notably, Kennedy traveled to Los Angeles, CA and competed in the National Braille Challenge. Out of 50 students from 6 countries, Kennedy placed 1st in the Apprentice Category. She will be representing the state of Georgia and USA again this summer at Braille Challenge Finals! She started out tiny in the NICU, but is showing that NICU graduates can academically excel and have a bright future!

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
Kennedy has overcome odds since day 1. Diagnosed with cerbral palsy and blindness, no had never been an option. Kennedy tackles every challenge life presents her with courage, bravery, and strength. She is an inspiration to those around her and makes an impact to those who meet her.
